Volunteers needed for July 2, 2009
Parade volunteers:
Stands and Main Concourse
20 volunteers to start at 1:30 – 6 p.m.
20 More Volunteers to start at 3 – 6 p.m.
Job Description
First group: post signage throughout the concourse and the stands.
First and second groups: These 40 people will man the main concourse and the stands to direct players to the correct sections and rows. When the parade is about to start, these people will help line up the states in proper order, and 15 of them will be flag carriers to help escort each state onto the field. The remaining volunteers will then help cleanup the stands and retrieve the signage for reuse in 2010. When the ceremonies are over and the stands are cleaned, the volunteers may leave. Estimate this to be about 6:15 p.m.
The 15 will go with team onto the field as a flag bearer – help control teams on the field – and direct them to the exits – maintain control of flag and state signs – help clean up field after ceremony is over.
Field Control
Group 1: 6 able bodied individuals at 1:30- 6:30 p.m.
Group 2: 6 additional able bodied individuals at 3 - 6:30 p.m.
Job Description
Group 1 - help set the arch, flags, and field signage for the parade.
Group 1 & 2 - maintain control of access to the field. As activities begin, will control access to the field – before the parade, keep people off the field, during the parade, keep players on the field, then help control exit when ceremonies end – help clean up field – collect signage and flags and break down the arch. When field is clean, volunteers may leave. Estimate this to be 6:30 p.m.
Total number of volunteers needed for parade – 73 plus adult supervision for Top Soccer players

Lot across from Science Building: 6 volunteers

Field/Game volunteers needed July 3 to 6 at Barboursville 4-H & Park and Kennedy Center fields
Volunteers will work in 4 hr shifts between 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. during the preliminary rounds. For semi-finals, volunteers will work a 4 hour shift between 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. For the finals on July 6th, volunteers will work a 3 hour shift between 7 a.m. until 1 p.m.
a) Field Marshalls
Report game progress and scores and communicate with Area Coordinator to report any problems. Contact
support staff, hydration, maintenance, medical, transportation, and security as needed.
b) Hydration Team
Fill and monitor for refill all water and Gatorade coolers in the area. Assist the field marshals and support staff as needed.
c) Maintenance Team
Check goals, nets, corner flags, field lines and repair as needed. Check trash cans and empty as needed.
Monitor porta- pots and restrooms and report problems. Assist the field marshals and support staff as needed.
d) Transportation Team
Assist those in need of transport from parking areas to fields. Transport referees and volunteers as needed.
e) Referees' transportation
18 or older to drive golf carts
