Exceptions to the rules are as follows:
- Slide tackling is permitted only in A-League games
- Slide tackling is not allowed and considered dangerous play in the B, C, and W-Leagues
- Substitution shall be unlimited
- Substitutions may be made, with the consent of the referee, at any stoppage in play
